This one is awesome.
I guess that’s the second book trailer I’ve seen now that made me actually want to go out and buy the book. I have to admit that Tantalize has had my attention for a while just on the basis of it being a young adult gothic fantasy by an author whose blog I really enjoy. I’ve actually had it in hand a few times at the book store, read the cover copy numerous times, slathered and drooled over the pretty cover, but eventually I’ve put it back because of the size of my TBR pile and the ridiculous cost of hardcovers (which I MUCH prefer). But damn. Now I’m hooked. I gotta read it. It was all I could do to not swing by Barnes and Noble – the snow flurries might have talked some sense into me for one night, but I’m pretty sure I’ll be driving by a bookstore again in the next few days.
Actually, it’s high time I read something by Cynthia Leitich Smith. Native American authors tend to have a very unique perspective on literature and I’m eager to see how (and if) she delivers that in this novel. (From the blurb, it’s not a native novel at all, but I still wonder if I’ll sense the sentiment there that is present in most native american storytelling.)
"Passion. Murder. Marinara." Love it!
I know! What fun, right?!?
