Time Does Fly

I’ve been doing a tremendous amount of reading this summer. Promptly after my last post, my writer’s block came back full force, and I’ve since written exactly 3 pages of my new project Camouflage. Just three. The characters started talking one night, and I listened and typed furiously, thinking “this is it, I’m through it! I’m going to write again.” Then the opening scene was done and poof. My muse evaporated.

It’s wierd, but I don’t even want to read any fiction. I keep picking up interesting novels, but I just can’t get through them. Anything else will do it seems – astrology, personal finance, vegan cookbooks (not that I’m a vegan, just that I’m interested), online newsletters, I’ll even read tabloid trash cover to cover. Anything to keep my mind learning… er…busy. So yeah, it hit me today what’s really going on since I went back to work. I’m avoiding writing. Really avoiding it. And I don’t know what that’s about. So I really need to think about it I guess.
